Dr. Gary G. Kindley has over 26 years of counseling experience working with individuals, couples, adolescents, families, corporations, organizations, and people of many faiths, backgrounds, lifestyles, and experiences. A Texas native, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Psychology from Texas Wesleyan University (magna cum laude), as well as a Master of Divinity Degree and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Counseling from Texas Christian University.

A gifted speaker, educator, and author, he has been a resource for corporations and entities such as Nordstrom Stores, the United States Army, the Lions Eye Bank, Zale Lipshy Hospital, Tarrant County College District, UMCOR, Killeen ISD, Georgetown ISD, private investment and healthcare companies, as well as city and county governments in Central Texas and the DFW metroplex.

He has received clinical training in hospital, parish, and counseling center settings, including 2 years of supervised counseling at the TCU Pastoral Counseling Center. He received CPE training at Harris Methodist Hospital-Fort Worth, and has served on the Crisis Intervention Suicide Hotline in Fort Worth.

His studies have included psychology, systems theory, conflict management, pastoral psychotherapy, personality typing, addiction/twelve-step counseling, spiritual direction, leadership coaching and team development, with post-graduate studies in sexual ethics, men’s spirituality and life-stage crisis. He has participated in continuing education events in Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, Nashville, Houston, Austin, Arlington, San Antonio, Jerusalem, Athens, and London, as well as at Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Southwestern University.

He has served as a Sexuality & Ethics Educator with the United Methodist Church for almost 30 years, leading sexuality and intimacy seminars for organizations, churches, and schools throughout Texas including Southwestern University and Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (now UNT Health Science Center).

Officially endorsed by several North Texas area churches representing United Methodist, United Church of Christ, and independent Evangelical traditions, he holds membership with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, the Texas Counseling Association, and the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors.

He has served as a Senior Minister and Pastoral Counselor working with United Methodist congregations, as well as ecumenical, non-denominational, and non-profit community service organizations throughout Central Texas. An advocate of educational travel, he has led tours of the Middle East, Greece, Scotland, and England.

Dr Kindley is the father of two sons, and servant to a cat named K.C. His hobbies include travel, piano, and skeet shooting (the challenge of hitting a moving target that doesn't bleed)!
